Network Professionals Corporate History

1990 - Pulp Culture BBS was started by Damien J. Sweeney as a part time Computer Bulletin Board Service to serve computer users.

1992 - Damien and Julie Sweeney start PC Professionals to fill a need in the central Wisconsin market for businesses to get reliable service for their networking and computer needs.

1993 - PC Professionals purchases Competitive Edge Computers in Stevens Point, WI and operates that office as their first remote office. Pulp Culture BBS starts to offer Internet News Groups and Internet E-mail addresses - becoming the first company to offer Internet services in central Wisconsin. PC Professionals hires Michael D. Pries who later becomes part Owner and Vice President of PC Professionals, Inc. (later, Network Professionals, Inc.). PC Professionals incorporates becoming PC Professionals, Inc.

1994 - PC Professionals, Inc. acquires a BBS chat software program called WildChat and develops it into WildChat Professional, distributing to thousands of users worldwide.

1996 - In January 1996 PC Professionals, Inc. begins providing complete Internet dial-up access to Wausau Wisconsin and surrounding areas via a dedicated T-1 connection to the Internet backbone. Access expands in central Wisconsin over the next four years to include Wausau, Abbotsford/Colby, Antigo, Green Bay, Stevens Point, Medford and Marshfield. Pulp Culture BBS takes its last phone call and is finally retired as customers migrate to full Internet and Web services.

1998 - In November 1998 PC Professionals (later, Network Professionals, Inc.) is chosen by GTE to be the first ISP in central Wisconsin to offer ADSL Internet access to their customers.

2000 - February 11, 2000 PC Professionals, Inc. sells its Internet Provision Division and all seven remote dial-up markets to DataWave Technologies. The company name is changed to Network Professionals, Inc. retaining all administrative and network technical staff.

2000 - In June 2000 Network Professionals installs its new independent Internet backbone connection and becomes the areas first Web Site Development company to provide web site hosting via their own direct backbone connection.

2000 - In July 2000 Network Professionals becomes a Citrix Certified Reseller and adds Citrix Metaframe to their list of products and services.

2002 - In February Network Professionals offers Internet connectivity services once again offering Business Class Broadband Internet Service to Wausau, Antigo, Marshfield, Eagle River, Tomahawk, Minocqua.
